Mercedes

G-Klasse 300GD

Project Summary

Vehicle manufactured in 1984, it came to our workshop just for body restoration and paint. During disassembly, many other problems revealed, so the customer decided to overhaul the entire vehicle, including all systems.

Restauration time: 900 hours.

Completely disassembled.

The body was checked to determine the affected areas by rust, as well the optimal solution for removing the rusted components. The decision was to buy original body elements, and where necessary, the respective elements were manufactured in-house during bodywork jobs.

All other systems / components of the vehicle were checked, and where necessary, the components were replaced to ensure the systems are working properly.

The front and rear axles have been completely refurbished, including seals, bearings, front axle shafts, and in the end adjustment of gear contact pattern.

Complete overhaul process was also applied for the transfer case.

On this vehicle the OM617 engine was in best condition, with very low mileage, so only necessary job was to check the fuel pump using the test rig, and to replace injector nozzles, since injector number 5 was faulty.

Refurbished body trims, headlights, taillights.

On this car the owner installed a 5 gear manual transmision in a local company in Germany, this part was subject of warranty so the only work done on it was to replace output shaft seal ring.

Replaced carpets and some parts of the dashboard.

The vehicle was reconditioned on request, for a customer from Germany, who wanted the appearance to be the original one, and the car to operate safely to be used as a daily driver.

Vehicle is now used as a daily driver in Germany.
